In just under two weeks, Taylor Swift will perform six shows in Toronto as part of her record-breaking Eras Tour. With shows running from Nov. 14 to 16 and 21 to 23, it’s one of her longest tour stops — the city is tied with Los Angeles and Singapore.
But where will the megastar stay when she’s off the stage?
Swift has been private on where she’s stayed on past visits to Toronto, so the Star looked at hotels that have hosted other celebrities to guess at where the pop star might call her “Cornelia Street” up north.
SoHo Hotel Toronto
The SoHo Hotel on the corner of Wellington Street and Blue Jays Way, with its three-floor penthouse suite, has been a favourite spot for A-listers in the past like Will Smith.
It’s just a five-minute walk from Rogers Centre, meaning Swift could avoid Toronto’s notorious bumper-to-bumper traffic that has forced other celebs and notable figures to ditch their tour buses or cars walk to their venues.
And, for fans looking to splurge on accommodations, the SoHo is offering a Cornelia Suite Package, inspired by the Swift’s Cornelia Street apartment in New York, which includes a suite, an official Eras Tour shirt and a SoHo Swiftie friendship bracelet.
Bisha Hotel
Located right next to the SoHo Hotel, the Bisha Hotel has also been known to host many celebrities, particularly during TIFF season, with TIFF Lightbox and other theatres just around the corner on King Street.
At this year’s TIFF, Dakota Johnson, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Lopez, Henry Golding and others were seen leaving the hotel.
The Bisha also has its own Swift-themed room — for $1,500 a night.
Ritz-Carlton
Another favourite for A-list TFF attendees is the Ritz-Carlton, across David Pecaut Square on Wellington Street. Its proximity to the Rogers Centre makes it another contender host for Swift during her Toronto stopover.
Some notable past guests include George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston and Ryan Gosling.
Fairmont Royal York
The Fairmont has a long history of hosting big names, from Queen Elizabeth II on multiple occasions to more recent stars like Jennifer Garner and the Olsen twins. Forbes Magaine even called the hotel “Toronto’s glitziest celebrity hot spot” in 2020.
However, though the Fairmont is downtown, its location across from Union Station may make it a pain to get to and from Rogers Centre amidst heavy traffic and streets full of fans.
As one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Swift may opt to book an Airbnb or VRBO instead to avoid the many fan events happening downtown, or even other guests staying in a hotel.
Beyoncé, for example, stayed in an Airbnb that cost $10,000 a night after performing at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in 2016.
Where exactly this private rental was is unclear, but the Bridle Path neighbourhood may be a good bet given the area’s reputation for having the homes of other stars like Drake and Celine Dion.
