    Description

30 page paper brochure, measuring 5" x 7 1/4", requesting contributions to the Cincinnati War Chest 1919 "Fill the Chest for God and Country".  Idea was that the top and most important people in Cincinnati at the time wanted to raise ,250,000 during WWI to help the major charities in Cincinnati.  What is so interesting about this booklet is that it names all the members of the organization and it is a list of important men (probably no women) in the City at that time.  Head of the executive committee and every other committee is Wm Cooper Procter, with B. H. Kroger, F. A Geir, James Orr, Julius Fleishmann, L. A. Ault., C. P. Taft, Etc as members. I think it interesting that Wm Cooper Procter and Barney Kroger knew each other and worked together on charitable events. Then there is a list and description of the charities and how many people they served.  New Orphan Asylum for Colored Youth; Public Health Federation; St Joseph's Infant Asylum; Smoke Abatement League; Social Hygiene Society; Western Society for the Suppression of Vice-it goes on and on with major and very minor charities listed. Brochure has been folded down the middle and on the front cover, it has a fold mark in the top right corner.  Not bad for a 101 year old booklet.  From a pet free and smoke free home-the brochure has no odor.  Also a virus free home.
