WW II Antique Ship Wheel US Navy Brass.
Served in US Navy on the navy vessel USNS Marine Lynx (T-AP-194). The Lynx carried occupation troops to the Far East and returned veterans of the Pacific campaigns. After 1958 she was transferred to the Maritime Administration and sold to Hudson Waterways Corp. where she was converted to a cargo ship and renamed Transcolumbia.
My father was given this wheel by Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock as a gift. This company was a ship refurbisher back in late 70's. See photo of plaque which gives a description and is mounted on the heavy wooden mount and base which comes with wheel.
